They could have done it the easy way.
When the bosses at Royal India received SeaSol’s demand for payment of wages owed to two workers, they were given time to settle the dispute with no further escalation, no picketing, just a couple of cashiers checks made out to the workers, totaling roughly two thousand dollars. We wouldn’t have even mentioned the business by name online, as we generally don’t when things are resolved promptly and without retaliation.
Instead, they chose the hard way: weeks, months, years of picketing outside their restaurants at peak times. Full online exposure of their foul business practices. All of this leading to media coverage, dramatic decline in revenue, and eventually even felony prosecution.
Now their last remaining location has closed, and Royal India / Dastoor is no more. Let it be a lesson.
