Seattle Solidarity Network is happy to announce another victory over unpaid wages for a standing member. More than 20 participants stood in solidarity with the former worker and the boss subsequently conceded within the two week period laid out in the demand. As such, he and his company will remain unnamed.
The former worker was fired without warning, without a paycheck, and without his credit card tips. Due to the abrupt firing and his wages being withheld for more than two months, he and his household were thrown into economic precarity, struggling to pay for groceries, rent, and healthcare. Now his household’s situation is far more stable, thanks in large part to the power of direct action and solidarity!
The demand delivery action left participants feeling optimistic and empowered. Reminding us, that even in uncertain times…
When we fight
We win!
