SeaSol scores a hat trick! After pressure from her underpaid worker and many committed SeaSol members and supporters, Seaside Grill owner Sarah Suseyi finally paid her former worker nearly $4,000 in stolen wages and tips. This is her third defeat against Seattle Solidarity Network. See Sarah’s first and second defeats at her former Alki location, Pegasus Pizza, here: fight 1, fight 2
After she tried multiple attempts to threaten and intimidate her former worker Au, the Seaside Grill owner quickly crumbled under the power of workers’ solidarity as she realized that no one likes a wage thief. Many neighbors in West Seattle recognized this thieving boss from when she owned the Alki Pegasus Pizza and stole from workers there.
Congratulations to worker Au for not giving into the boss’s lies: “I’ll pay you next week” (and next week never comes), “I don’t have any money,” “I’ll sell my business and not give you a penny,” “I’ll sue you and your group.” We have heard lies like this over and over, but solidarity wins every time.
Because when we fight, we win!
